Reaching Out

At Kirkwood UCC, we strive to be an active and beneficial part of the community, and that means reaching out to serve. We regularly team up with Neighbors in Need to help long-time members of the surrounding community with much needed yard work and repairs. We also collect warm clothing, diapers, pantry items and Christmas gifts for those in need and partake in annual clean-up events such as Decatur’s MLK Work Day. We believe such services are our responsibilities as followers of Christ.

2012 Decatur MLK Work Day

We’ll meet at 8:30am Saturday in the Solarium in Oakhurst, 321 W. Hill Street. Please dress for outside work and, if possible, bring any yard tools you might have. See you Saturday!

Warming Up Our Neighborhood

We’re collecting new and gently-used coats, sweaters, hats, gloves, blankets for those who come through our doors. If you have something to offer, bring it in with you the next time you’re at church and we’ll add it to our offering. Thank you for helping us share warmth!

Weekly AA Meetings

Every Friday from 8-9 p.m, KUCC hosts a meeting of Alcoholics Anonymous, a fellowship of men and women who share experience, strength and commitment to recover from alcoholism. Neither dues nor church affiliation is required. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. Contact: Sean Casey
