Special Worship Services

Blessing of the Animals

Yes, even the furrier members of your household have a place in God’s creation! Dogs, cats, bunnies, snakes, birds — whatever form your special friend takes, bring them to the annual KUCC Blessing of the Animals for some pet-focused prayers and a chance to meet and greet new friends.
This year, the blessing is on Sunday, Sept. 18 at at 10 a.m. Bessie Branham Park in Kirkwood. All people and pets are welcome! People and pet treats will be available!
Contact Rev. Susannah Davis for more information.

Blessing of the Backpacks

We gather our students for a Back-to-school Blessing of the Backpacks during our worship service. In 2011, it will take place Sunday, August 7.

Blessing of the Bikes

The Blessing of the Bikes is held in the Spring of each year in connection with the Kirkwood Bicycle Club. During the service, we remember that riding your bike is just about one of the best parts of life – maybe one of the best ways to connect to life. The wheels keep on turning, you keep on moving. Blessings keep on coming. You wave and people wave back. And all of creation rejoices!

Taizé Worship Service

Every once in a while, the KUCC congregation takes things down a notch and fills the sanctuary with a traditional Taize Worship celebration. These serene, peaceful services provide us with the chance to share in meditative worship, praise and song. For more information on Taize worship, visit the Official Taizé Community website here and contact Karen Mann for more information on KUCC’s Taize Worship Service.

We also host special Advent services and Easter Sunrise services in Bessie Branham Park, followed by a community Easter Egg Hunt. All are welcome!
