We are growing out of our space and need more room!
2015 marks KUCC’s 8th year as a congregation. Yes, we are young, but we are growing stronger; we are growing our members and visitors; we are growing our missions; and we are growing – literally – out of our current space. We’ve been aware of this trend and have taken steps to address it over the last two years. We rented all the available space in our building, added more worship services, re-arranged our food pantry and our clothes closet – all wonderful steps – and it is helping. But we know that we need more space, better accessibility and more efficient ways to serve our missions.
In response to this need, KUCC launched its first capital campaign, “Our Sacred Trust,” in January 2014, chaired by members Alicia Ottley, Lori Glidewell and Kyle Caldwell. This Capital Campaign Committee is charged with guiding our community to generate the funds needed to take us to a new home. Our goal is to raise the funds needed for our down payment, any necessary renovations, needed furniture and fixtures, and any other forecasted expenses related to our move.
Our capital campaign has a significant goal, but we have mapped out some very thoughtful and realistic strategies to get us there without compromising our normal operating budget. We are talking with “everyone, everyone, everyone” on ways we can bind together to accomplish this very important and necessary mission for this church.
We will be posting more information on this topic on The City, so keep checking in. If you have ANY questions, need to know how to make a contribution, or just want to learn more about this, please contact Alicia at [email protected] or Lori at [email protected].
Many thanks for your support during this exciting growth of our church!
