Jorge was born and raised in the foothills of Colorado near the city of Boulder. Growing up in the Rocky Mountain West gave him many opportunities to immerse himself in nature and the outdoors, passions he carries with him today. Most of Jorge's life was spent in the field of mechanical engineering, designing electrical and automation systems for industry. His career took him to many disciplines professionally, but his off-work passion was always family, friends, and playing music. A guitarist since age 14, Jorge became involved in music production and sound design in his twenties, later serving as the main guitarist in a couple of folk/gospel bands.
After marrying his wife Jean, he moved to the Atlanta area where he completed his degree in Psychology from Clayton State University. Jorge served for several years as a volunteer chaplain at Piedmont Fayette Hospital. During the pandemic, Jorge immersed himself in video post production work to help local churches build an online video presence, working with several churches in the Southeast. Jorge came onboard at KUCC shortly thereafter and helped build the AV system in use today.
An avid traveller, he and his wife embrace travel to locations all over the country, and the world,
every opportunity they can. Regular trips back to Colorado to see children and grandchildren are always in the works.
