“And ‘Way’ will open,” were the words spoken at a Quaker meeting, to writer-teacher-theologian, Parker Palmer. “Way” he explains, is what happens when we are willing to listen to our life speak, in deep ways, the truth of who we are and who we are becoming.
Our Lenten theme for this season is “WAY.” Sometimes, though, it seems, we only have One Way, or we need to know the Right Way, or perhaps even, Way closes on us and we feel left; stranded and afraid.
Throughout the scriptures, though, we witness that God is always making Way for God’s people. This Lenten season we are invited to move in the Way of God, watching, waiting, searching, trusting that God is our Way, leading us to life, urging us into Ways of being, learning, growing, changing and becoming.
Jesus, with hope, courage and love, trusted God to be The Way that would lead to life, through dissonance, despair and even death. Yet we know that death does not have the final word. This is the Good News in which we stand and by which we are being saved; God is always making Way.
Through these 40 days of the Lenten season, we have the great privilege and joy of hearing from one another, through our KUCC Lenten Devotionals, of the many ways that God has made and is making Way in our own lives — even more Good News! God Is Still Speaking! Alleluia -- Amen.
