Boomers and Beyond offer those who self-identify as baby boomers (Wikipedia defines anyone born from mid-1940s to 1964. “One feature of the boomers is that they tend to think of themselves as a special generation, very different from those that came before or that has come since.”) No doubt, anyone ‘Beyond Boomers’ is just that, someone born before the boomers. So, there it is, in a nutshell. Our activities will include:
• Supporting each other and the community of KUCC
• Modeling, witnessing and mentoring to others
• Growing deeper in our spirituality
• Having fun!
B&B's NEXT EVENT:
Boomers and Beyond, while aiming for a particular age group, welcomes everyone when we gather on Saturday, April 13th, at 5:30 in the Church House for a potluck supper and conversation. We will eat at 6:00 and plan to end at about 8:30.
The focus of the evening will be “What gets you out of bed in the morning?” In the swirl and chaos of all around us, how do you hold on to hope, find meaning in life and move beyond resignation and despair? Is there an object, a written piece, an example of someone’s life that you can share that represents this hope or meaning? Wendy B. and Tim D., your organizers, invite you to RSVP, and indicate what you would like to contribute to the potluck. Sign up to bring a main dish, a side, a salad, a dessert, or a beverage. I've indicated 3 of each, but if you think we might need more, please go ahead and claim whatever you want to bring! Tim and Wendy will fill in any gaps in the offerings. We will provide plates, utensils, and water. |
