Imagine Together: Thanks & Giving 2024During this month of Thanks & Giving we’re excited to Recall & Remember the Goodness and Grace of God at work in and through our community of faith at KUCC AND to IMAGINE TOGETHER, all that God has on the horizon for us in the new year to come.
Throughout our November worship, we’ll hear from folks in the congregation about the many ways they receive love from this community and their commitment to give of their love and resources to our life together. This month, How can we IMAGINE TOGETHER, a better world; a world filled with generous people always willing to lend a helping hand, a listening ear, or a supportive presence in times of challenge? These resources can come in many forms. They can be our time, our talent, and our money. God’s love is abundant and extravagant—and ours can be, too! |
Boomers! the weather has not treated us well, and we have cancelled our last two gatherings because of nasty stuff. but spring is around the corner, and we will meet! Thursday, March 13th! 10:30! Be there or be square!
We will be visiting Chairs Bookstore and Agnes Scott College on Thursday, March 13th, gathering at 10:30 and ending at 1:30. Postponed by inclement weather, we are dusting ourselves off and taking a step on a journey of getting to know our city and our neighbors better, beginning with Charis Bookstore, at 184 South Chandler Street, Decatur. Charis a voice of feminism and advocate for inclusivity in Atlanta for decades. We will begin at the bookstore with an introduction to their work and resources, and continue with lunch at the Evans Dining Hall, followed by a tour of the Agnes Scott campus and an introduction to the exciting directions this historic school is moving toward. We will end at 1:30. If the campus tour is too much walking for you, you can join us for the bookstore and lunch. Lunch will be $12.50 each. There will be parking for you at a lot just south of Charis on the left on Candler.
It will be Peak Week for the college, so the students will not be in class but pursuing their global education involvements, so there will not be as many around. The Dining Hall will not be as full as usual. However, we will undoubtedly learn much about this visionary school with its minority majority enrollment, and its priority in developing global leadership in the 21st century. Please, please sign up by RSVP-ing in Events on March 13th.
